About this worksheet

Each sheet contains 6, 9 or 12 problems (your choice) and is generated at random. Press “New problems” as many times as you like; there is no limit and no account needed.

Worked example

 931470
  1. 93 does not go into 1, so look at the first 2 digits.
  2. 93 does not go into 14, so look at the first 3 digits.
  3. 93 goes into 147 1 time: 1 × 93 = 93, and 147 − 93 = 54. Bring down the 0 to make 540.
  4. 93 goes into 540 5 times: 5 × 93 = 465, and 540 − 465 = 75.
  5. Nothing is left to bring down, so the remainder is 75: the answer is 15 R75.
  6. Check: 15 × 93 + 75 = 1470.

Answer: 15 R75

Teaching tips
