About this worksheet

Each sheet contains 16, 20 or 24 problems (your choice) and is generated at random. Press “New problems” as many times as you like; there is no limit and no account needed.

Worked example

84×54=
  1. Multiply the numerators (8 × 5 = 40) and the denominators (4 × 4 = 16): 40/16.
  2. Simplify: divide the top and bottom by 8. 40/16 = 5/2.
  3. 5/2 is more than 1: 5 ÷ 2 = 2 remainder 1, so 5/2 = 2 and 1/2.

Answer: 2 and 1/2
