About this worksheet

Each sheet contains 12, 18 or 24 problems (your choice) and is generated at random. Press “New problems” as many times as you like; there is no limit and no account needed.

Worked example

470.5 ÷ 5 =
  1. Ignore the decimal point for now and divide 4705 by 5: 4705 ÷ 5 = 941.
  2. 470.5 has 1 digit after the decimal point, so the quotient does too: put the point 1 place from the right in 941.
  3. Check: 94.1 × 5 = 470.5.

Answer: 94.1

Teaching tips

  • Estimate first: 142.8 ÷ 3 is a little less than 150 ÷ 3 = 50.
